Ephesians 4:7 Living Bible (TLB)
7 However, Christ has given each of us special abilities—whatever he wants us to have out of his rich storehouse of gifts.
Every one of us has been graced by God. To be graced means to be endowed with divine abilities, gifts and talents to accomplish what God has called us to do.
The bible says unto “every one of us” meaning no one is disadvantaged as a Christian. There is no Christian who is lacking in abilities, gifts and talents.
This clearly shows that service in the House of God is not exclusive to a few individuals -such as Pastors, Prophets and Teachers but is for all the saints.
God has endowed and empowered every Christian in the church for service. There is no room for non-functioning Christians.
The question is do you know you are graced for service?
GRACE COMES WITH RESPONSIBILITY
There are abilities, gifts and talents within you beyond your educational, professional or even biological background. With this grace comes a responsibility.
God has graced us with these abilities, talents and gifts in the body of Christ for us to amplify and promote the kingdom and each person will give an account before God of what they did with their talents, abilities and gifts.
We will all give an account before God of all the opportunities, resources and time that we had to add value to the kingdom of God. No one is here to make up the number but to be vitally involved in the work.
When you get born again and join a local assembly, God expects and demands of you to be vitally involved and promoting the gospel through your gifts, abilities and talents.
FULFILL YOUR MINISTRY
Colossians 4:17 King James Version (KJV)
17 And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
Paul instructs Archippus on two important issues:
1. To acknowledge and take possession of the ministry God has given to him.
2. To be ensure that he fulfills (accomplish, complete and perfect) God’s purpose for his life.
Ministry here does not refer to a church or organization; it refers to that specific service that God has called you to do. There is no useless Christian; everyone has a God given service to the body of Christ.
You are to put your talents, gifts and abilities to use in the service of the body of Christ.
Locate your place and begin to serve. Don’t be a “waka pass”.
God has made spiritual investments in you that should yield dividends into the kingdom through your service.
Your value and importance in the kingdom is to the extent of your service in the kingdom of God.
As we celebrate the Cell Ministry day today, make up your mind to fulfill your ministry in life and take your place in the body of Christ through service using your gifts, talents and abilities. Your gifts, talents and abilities and service to God and his people will open doors your qualifications cannot open and lead you to contentment in life.
