In our Year of Spreading, the Spirit of God has instructed us in all directions and we are committed to spreading the gospel to our catchment like never before.

To spread the gospel you must be willing to make a move. No matter what you want to do, there must be a start.

One action is worth a thousand good intentions. No matter how motivated you are, until you take the first step mix it with faith, and go out and tell someone about Jesus, you will never get the job done.

It’s important to deliberately make out time to preach the gospel. It must be a conscious plan and effort and not something left to chance.

In this month of January, our goal is for every member of the church to win and disciple a minimum for ONE SOUL.

By the end of January, your SOUL(S) should be seated in church. And this is so achievable!

There are basics which every Christian should know no matter their peculiar situation in spreading the gospel, which would ensure that they are effective soul winners.

Soul winning is forcefully removing people from the kingdom of Satan and taking them to the kingdom of God. Mark 3:27, “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.”

You must take authority over the powers of the devil to beguile the person you want to preach the gospel to. Intercede for the person, “for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places” (2 Corinthians 10:3)

You must know what the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is.

”but in your heart set Christ apart as holy [and acknowledge him]as lord. Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully” 1 Peter 3:15 (Amplified Bible)

The Bible says that men look at the outward appearance to judge things (1 Samuel 16:7).

You will be seen before you are heard and your appearance will either make prospective convert decide to listen to your or not. So ensure you must make a good impression the first time, every time. Dress smartly and neatly, have a good breath, and use deodorants

Dress like an ambassador because that’s who you are. Whether you are casually or formally dressed, hold up your head with dignity and confidence.

4.      SET GOALS
The Bible says in Proverbs 29:18, “Without a vision, the people perish”   it’s important as a witness to set definite goals for the soul winning. This will help guide your effort and prayers.

Set achievable targets but the key here is, “always out do your past” for example, if you had not had a lifestyle of soul winning before now, decide to win and retain in church at least one (1) soul within the next one month. If you win two or three people a month, go up to five. Always set a goal that will challenge your faith and keep you dependent on the Holy Spirit.

Starting a conversation is very fundamental as soul winning is almost impossible without actually speaking to someone in any form.

o   Begin With a Smile
Someone once said that a smile is something which you always get back immediately you give it. It warms the heart of the recipient and instantly causes him to give you his attention.

o   Be the First To Greet
Always be the first to greet. In greeting, speak out confidently and with joy. Let him wonder why you are so happy and confident.

o   Initiate the Discussion
Say something that will cause him to respond. Then steer the conversation towards Christ.

In all, you must realize that you are the one to make the first move. Say things that will catch the attention of your listener and cause him to believe that you can help him. Remember the discourse of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch (Act 8:29-40).

USING EVANGELICAL TOOLS – Tracts and our Ministry Materials (Rhapsody of Realities, Now That You Are Born Again, Power of Tongues)
The tracts and our Ministry Materials are crystallized materials that carry the message of the gospel in an undauntedly way that you can also give to people. These they can study when they are alone and through this the Holy Spirit can minister to them in their quiet moments.
Using these evangelical tools help in preparing your prospective convert for your actual discussion with him later on.

However, remember the Tracts and Ministry Materials are tools to aid us in personal evangelism and should not be used to replace witnessing. Whenever you give someone a tract or gospel material, you must follow up on the material to seal the deal.

1.      Pray fervently in the Holy Ghost for inspiration and direction to where the souls are.
2.      Have a plan of where you will witness and the number of converts you want to reach
3.      Have your writing materials to get their contact details (name, phone number, address and email address) in the course of your discussion.
4.      Arm yourself with sufficient tracts and/or our Ministry Materials to give out.
5.      Submit the details of the people you have reached daily to the PFCC office through your Cell/PCF leader
