Theme scriptures: Rom 12:11, 2 John 1:8AMP, Eph. 5:18-19
The heart desire of any Christian should be to please the Lord by doing His will and fulfilling His call.
Many sincerely want to do this but don’t know how. So you hear them say, “I want to serve God with all my heart; I want to be on fire for Him, but I don’t know how to stay consistent in the things of the Spirit”
In Romans 12:11 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
FERVENT – the bible tells us to beaglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.
9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
11Never be lacking in zeal, but KEEP YOUR SPIRITUAL FERVOR, SERVING the Lord.
12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality
KEEP YOUR PASSION…
DONT LOOSE YOUR ZEAL…
DONT BECOME LANGUID – UNINTERESTED IN THE THINGS OF GOD…
3 Things to help you maintain your glow in the Spirit.
1. BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
Without the Holy Spirit, you can’t do anything for the Lord that will be acceptable to Him or that’ll make any impact in the world. That’s why Ephesians 5:18 says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.” The expression “being filled with the Spirit” doesn’t refer to the baptism of the Holy Spirit which you received at the new birth. Rather, it refers to being loaded, fully imbued or abundantly fortified, satisfied and complete with the power of the Spirit – everyday!
The next verse tells us HOW to do this: SPEAKING (DON’T KEEP QUIET) to YOURSELVES (ME & U) in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, SINGING and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:19).
Making this a conscious and consistent PRACTICE is how to get full of the Spirit all the time.
When you let the Holy Spirit work through you and you’re overflowing with His FULLNESS you won’t need to try to muster boldness to say or do things. You will constantly walk in dominion over the devil, sickness, disease, infirmities and death. You’ll be able to CHANGE HOPELESS SITUATIONS and MAINTAIN YOUR GLOW as a Christian.
2. DON’T BE MOVED BY SENSORY PERCEPTION BUT FOLLOW THE SPIRIT
Secondly be careful NOT TO LISTEN to your FEELINGS or emotions for they’ll lie to you. That you “felt” close to God on a certain day doesn’t mean you’re spiritual; and that you sometimes “feel” far from God doesn’t mean God has left you or is far from you. Our closeness to God has nothing to do with how we feel on a certain day.
2 Cor 5:7 “For we walk by faith and not by sight” and Rom 8:16 “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God”
Following the Holy Spirit means YIELDING yourself to Him through the WORD of God.
You cannot follow the Holy Spirit except you’re yielded to God’s Word: doing what He says.
This will reflect the beauty of God in you and help you live a more excellent life. You’ll find yourself making the best decisions and the RIGHT CHOICES always. You’ll do the RIGHT THING the first time, be at the RIGHT PLACE at the right TIME, (accuracy of the spirit) and live an INSPIRING life.
3. SPEAKING IN TONGUES FERVENTLY
Thirdly, learn to speak in tongues FERVENTLY and LAVISHLY.
This is one of those blessings the Holy Spirit has brought into our lives. Speaking in tongues regularly will activate your spirit until you’re filled to overflowing.
2 Tim 1:6 AMP “…STIR UP (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious]gift of God, [the inner fire]that is in you…”
1 Corinthians 14:14
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
If you would consciously take advantage of these 3 points highlighted above by giving attention to them, your life will constantly be aglow and you’ll know NO DOWNTIME in your walk with the Lord. Glory!
