Theme Scriptures: Psalm 69:30; Psalm 95:2; Philippians 4:6

Introduction

“I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving” Psalm 69: 30

The Thanksgiving Service is a major landmark for every one of us in our Year of Triumph.

It is a celebration of God’s faithfulness, mercies, protection and provisions. It’s a time of stock taking; it’s our acknowledgement of the hand of God upon our lives and all that is connected to us.  Our thanksgiving positions us for even greater accomplishments in the next year and also activates the power of God on all that we rejoice over.

Even when things don’t appear to be working out well, thanksgiving is a spiritual weapon to bring forth life upon that endeavor.

Learn to be grateful
It is important to shower our praises on the Lord. It is important to render the calves of our lips to him through our worship (Hosea 14:2).

Anybody who is grateful at the little things that he sees will be grateful at anything.

And when you pray, you should do so with a grateful heart. Take time to thank Him for His power that keeps you healthy and whole.
Rev. 7:12 shows us that one important thing that you can give to God is your praise and thanksgiving.

And in Matthew 26:27, Jesus Himself gave thanks to God for the cup – His own blood that would be shed.

THE 10 LEPERS
In Luke 17:12-19, we see the story of the 10 lepers, they all got healed but only 1 of them went back to give thanks and because of his attitude of gratitude, he received wholeness.

1.    Give Him praise for the results you get every time you call upon His Name.
2.    Thank Him for His love, faithfulness and sovereignty.
3.    Thank Him for an awesome 2015, the Year of Triumph
4.    Thank Him for the fulfillment of all your heart desires. Don’t just wait till you see them physically; begin to thank him even before their manifestations.

JONAH IN THE BELLY OF THE FISH
Jonah 2:1-10.
Remember Jonah was in the belly of the fish, given up as “dead” when he began to utter praise to God. He spoke prophetically from the belly of the fish and in verse 9 he said “…. I will sacrifice unto thee with a voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed …..” The bible immediately states after this that God spoke to the fish and it vomited Jonah on dry ground.

If you are in a situation and it seems no way out for you, it might be like you are in the belly of the fish like Jonah, seemingly looking like you have come to the end of the road or there is no way out of that situation or predicament, it’s time to begin to give God thanks for the Year 2015 and offer your sacrifices of thanksgiving unto God and definitely great things are in store for you in 2016.

Surely God will cause that situation to move on your behalf just like he spoke to the fish to vomit Jonah out on dry ground. Hallelujah!

Conclusion
Make your thanksgiving seed something very special.

Prepare it specially and as you do, prepare for His special response to your special seed.

Don’t miss the thanksgiving service next Sunday.
