THE BIGGEST THING IN CHRISTIANITY – CHRIST IS RISEN

0

INTRODUCTION
Christianity is not a religion; it is the life of God at work in a man. There is one truth at the heart of Christianity that made it possible for us to receive that life, and that truth is the biggest thing in Christianity. It is what separates Christianity from religion, and without embracing this truth, it is not possible for a man to be born again. The biggest thing in Christianity is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

THE BIGGEST THING IN CHRISTIANITY
The biggest thing in Christianity is not that Jesus was born of a virgin, even though that qualified Him to be the Savior of the world. However, if God didn’t raise Him from the dead, there wouldn’t have been salvation, The Bible says that Jesus was delivered for our offences, and raised for our justification(Rom 4:25).

When He died, we died in Him, and when He was buried, we were buried in Him (Rom 6:3-4). When He was raised from the dead, we were raised together with Him from the dead, unto a new life. (Eph 2:6).

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, then we are not justified and that means we are still in sin. But thank God that He arose from the dead! The Bible says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”(Rom 10:9-10). If you don’t believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, you cannot be saved, for it is one of the requirements for salvation.

FULFILL THE MANDATE
Today, the Lord Jesus is in heaven, sitting at the right hand of God the Father. However, the Lord’s commission remains the same (Mark 16:15-18; Matthew 28:19-20). The responsibility of fulfilling the mission Jesus began has been given to you and me: “Then said Jesus to them (his disciples) again, Peace be unto you: as my father hath sent me, even so send I you” (John 20:21).

Soul winning is your number one priority as a Christian. You may be a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, a pilot or a member of the cabin crew of an airplane, you may even be a government official; whatever service you might be providing to satisfy human needs, none can be compared to the service you have been called to render to the Lord in winning and building souls for the kingdom. You mustn’t be too busy with worldly activities to carry out this ministry. If Jesus’ disciples were busy professionals then you have no excuse, notwithstanding your busy schedule.

Jesus said, “I must go about my father’s business while it is day” (John 9:4), which means there’s a time to this assignment. Therefore, don’t let the fire of your commitment wane and don’t be slothful in business; the salvation of several people depends on you!

CONCLUSION
Take some time out to meditate on the resurrection of Jesus and what it means to you. The resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, remains the bedrock of Christianity. You are born again, with a new life, because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the biggest thing in Christianity, because without it, there is no salvation!

This is the real meaning of Easter! That Jesus died and rose again and gave us the power to become proof producers in His name (Acts 1:8). As you celebrate today, remember the purpose of this death and resurrection and be mindful that you fulfill the ministry and calling He committed to your trust.
